The Warehouse Clerk Level 1 / Backup Driver is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations including receiving, storing, picking, and shipping of goods, while also serving as the backup driver for deliveries. When the primary driver is unavailable, this position will operate company box trucks to deliver and pick up materials. When not driving, this role performs standard warehouse clerk functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Clerk Duties
•Handle inbound shipments, including unloading, verification, and put-away.
•Replenish pick bins to support the fulfillment team.
•Process material requests for other departments such as Production, Assembly, and QC.
•Pick, pack, and prepare outbound shipments according to company standards.
•Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization, ensuring aisles and bins are clear.
•Accurately record transactions in the warehouse management/ERP system.
•Support cycle counts and inventory accuracy.
Backup Driver Duties
•Serve as the designated backup driver when the primary driver is out.
•Safely operate a company box truck for local deliveries/pickups.
•Verify delivery documentation, ensuring items match orders.
•Load and unload materials at delivery sites while following safety procedures.
•Communicate with dispatch, warehouse, and customers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
•Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any issues.
•Follow all DOT regulations, company driving policies, and safety requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Requirements
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Minimum 5 years of box truck driving experience.
•Valid Commercial Class C Driver's License.
•Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 5 years.
•Strong knowledge of local routes and safe driving practices.
•Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical warehouse tasks.
•Basic computer skills for warehouse systems (NetSuite/WMS preferred).
•Strong attention to detail and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience in warehouse operations.
•Forklift certification (or willingness to be trained).
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills and Experience:
•Previous warehouse experience with knowledge of inventory control practices
•Familiarity with ERP/WMS systems such as NetSuite
•Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one
•Strong organizational skills to maintain clean, efficient warehouse operations
•Effective communication with warehouse, production, and delivery teams
•Ability to work independently and contribute positively to a team environment
•Strong problem-solving and adaptability in fast-paced settings
The pay range for this role is:25 - 25 USD per hour(Gale)
