RahrBSG is looking for a Malt Processing Operator (Maltster) in Shakopee Minnesota. The Maltster monitors all three phases of the Malting process. Steeping, germination, and kilning to assure guidelines and parameters are being satisfied. Employee is also responsible for identifying problems with product processing areas or machinery in house and taking appropriate measures to correct and/or report them. Routine and non-routine sanitation and maintenance assignments will be performed at different intervals of time. Following the directives of Management, assists in processing Malted Barley, product quality and plant sanitation by performing the following duties.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor all phases of the Malting operation through use of control systems, hearing, sight and smell.
- Report any deviation from standard Malting practice or product parameters to supervisors.
- Perform all product transfers including steeping, loading of kilns, unloading of kilns, unloading of germination vessels.
- Tends or operates machines or equipment on associated with the malting process.
- Performs all required plant sanitation activities.
- Monitors, coordinates and expedites flow of materials within production area.
- Notifies maintenance workers of equipment malfunctions and where capable assists in repair.
- Maintains product workflow records.
- Inspects in process material to verify it is within established specification.
- Non-routine tasks are varied and usually are assigned on a day-to-day basis or as required if a problem exists. The primary non-routine tasks include shoveling, washing or other grain transfer as necessary during breakdowns for emergencies
- All other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & WORK REQUIREMENTS:
- Education/Experience: 2yr Technical School or equivalent experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
