About the role
The Compliance Specialist is a key member of the compliance department and Zion HealthShare team. They are responsible for assisting with maintaining compliance with internal and external laws, regulations, and policies. Their duties include coordinating with the Compliance Director and multiple departments to identify potential risks, audit and review processes/information, reviewing policies and procedures, and leading projects as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all company, department and position policies and procedures.
- Assist with implementing compliance standards and improvements to internal control structures.
- Help enforcing regulations and legal requirements due to current and proposed legislation.
- Assist with auditing internal and external websites, handouts, documents, etc.
- Review affiliates and companies for Zion HealthShare regulations and requirements.
- Responsible for researching and documenting quality assurance activities with internal reporting and audits.
- Provide support with audits and risk analysis on company processes, procedures, documentation, etc.
- Investigate and respond to QA requests.
- Responsible for the policy revision process.
- Participate on committees as needed.
- In coordination with the Compliance Director, assist with the completion of all required state regulations for HCSM and nonprofit requirements.
- Responsible for facilitating key training for employees surrounding compliance to HIPAA, HCSM, and nonprofit requirements.
- Collaborate with the Compliance Director to ensure clear, effective communication related to compliance.
- As needed, assist with maintaining effective relationships with 3rd party vendors.
- Other tasks, responsibilities, duties, and projects assigned by the Compliance Director.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or relevant equivalent experience.
- Effective written and verbal communicator, especially with complex issues.
- Demonstrated success in researching and presenting information.
- Consistently demonstrate strong attention to detail.
- Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency
- Quick learner of new technologies.
Preferred Experience
- Experience within legal or compliance fields, in nonprofit and/or healthcare.
- Good familiarity with HIPAA, nonprofit, and HCSM regulations and laws.
- Understanding of risk management and/or compliance roles.
- Bilingual

The pay range for this role is:50,000 - 60,000 USD per year(St George)
