Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, procedures and policies, the Scheduler receives patients graciously and efficiently and assists staff as needed. The scheduler is responsible for answering all phone calls and scheduling patients in the most efficient manner. The scheduler serves as a liaison between patient and medical support staff. Performs clerical duties related to day-to-day operations of the physicians’ office. It is expected that all duties and responsibilities of this position will be performed in a manner that reflects the mission statement of LMPC and LMHS.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
Licensure/Certification: None required.
Experience: One to three years of experience health care, specific to physician office practice preferred.
Skills: Knowledge of business office procedures, grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and skill in operating a computer and photocopy machine are required. Strong communication skills including the ability to greet patients and answer the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner and the ability to speak clearly and concisely are required. Must also demonstrate the ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions; the ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems; and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public. Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
