About The Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Billing Clerk to join our Finance Department in a remote capacity. As a Billing Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices, supporting the financial health of our organization. This is a full-time, hourly position designed for someone who enjoys working independently, values precision, and thrives in a structured, process-driven environment.
What You'll Do
- Prepare, issue, and manage customer invoices accurately and on time.
- Reconcile billing records and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain up-to-date billing systems and paperwork in compliance with company policies.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and statements promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure accurate revenue reporting and assist in month-end closing tasks.
- Monitor and process payments, track overdue accounts, and follow up on collections as necessary.
- Provide support for audits by ensuring documentation is complete and properly organized.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to improve billing processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a billing clerk, accounts receivable specialist, or in a similar finance-related role.
- Strong proficiency in English, both written and verbal, to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
- Familiarity with billing software and online accounting tools; experience with systems such as QuickBooks is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with acute attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform data entry and calculations with speed and precision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional finance or accounting coursework is a plus.
The pay range for this role is:25.19 - 35.60 USD per hour(Remote (New York, New York, US))
