About the role
This position is responsible for coordinating and providing clinical care to patients through administration of infusion therapies on an outpatient basis under direct supervision of a physician or other qualified medical professional.
What you'll do
- Receives patients, explains procedures, checks vital signs, and administers therapy, monitors reactions, and reports to physicians.
- Receives orders from physicians and schedules appointments for patients.
- Provides care in emergency situations (with outside assistance) if required. Communicates with covering physician.
- Unpack and logs medical supplies, medications and re-stocks areas as needed.
- Prepare for appointments making sure all appropriate labs, prior infusion flowsheets, imaging are completed and in patient chart
- Appropriately interact with patients, providers, and other staff
- Document all interactions, communications with patients, plan of treatment (POT), and billing codes accurately in patient charts.
- Perform delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and those assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with state licensure required.
- At least 3 years of clinical experience with training in infusion therapy
- Experience in an infusion clinic highly preferred.
- BLS/CPR certified
- Knowledge of medical office systems and procedures, EMR, and state laws. NextGen experience, preferred.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Ability to sit, stand, bend and reach for long periods of time, and lift up to 50 pounds periodically
- Friendly, team player, excellent collaborator, and communicator
