The Executive Director will be accountable for providing strategic leadership and direction for all clinical quality operations to include clinical informatics, workflows, data analysis, performance improvement, infection prevention, and accreditation processes. This position reports directly to the Vice President/ Chief Nursing Officer and has oversight for publicly reported data as assigned, infection prevention, clinical informatics, and regulatory and patient safety activities. This position includes a comprehensive understanding of clinical informatics and operational workflows that translate to clinical quality, as well as the translation of data into performance improvement. The Executive Director provides direct direction and leadership in the development, implementation, activities that support public reporting of data, CMS accreditation, performance improvement and evaluation of nursing, department, and ancillary quality measures. The Executive Director will be a liaison (or representative of) and partner to Information Technology and EPIC governance teams to assure the medical record is aligned to clinical workflows, data integration, reporting, patient safety, and quality outcomes. The Executive Director must have a strong understanding of how to develop data reporting, monitoring of trends in data, and alignment of data to organizational initiatives as well as public reporting as assigned. This director will have a strong command of data definitions, developing definitions for internal numerators and denominators, and working with a variety of stakeholders to obtain optimal quality performance. The Executive Director will work closely with the CNO/Vice President of Quality to develop structural and programtic strategies to decrease the burden of work on the clinical teams while maintaining a complete and accurate medical record. This director will work within all clinical databases available to the organization. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, physicians, staff, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs. Performs other duties as assigned by CNO.
Performance expectations:
- Work with and communicate with Vice President/CNO regarding program development, and future needs of the clinical quality programs of FGH.
- Work with Vice President to develop and implement clinical dash boards/score cards, reflecting quality and performance metrics using EPIC, and other available platforms such as, but not limited to Optum EIS.
- Work to promote and educate all stakeholders regarding the overall initiatives, goals, priorities, and measurable outcomes of services
- Work with various clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to identify, develop, and implement long and short-term goals/quality measures.
- Run reports, collate, stratify, and trend data sets.
- Promote positive relationships to align workflows and performance models across our health system.
- Promote strong understanding of quality measures and quality systems within the FH system.
- Be responsive to emerging reimbursement trends for services related to the areas of responsibility.
- Understand the growing trends and value of leveraging technology to improve data collection.
- Promote strong service initiatives to provide high quality care for all customers
- Directs and provides guidance to other Directors to effectively allocate resources and services based on referrals, patient volume, program goals and objectives.
- Assesses clinical quality initiatives to assure collaboration and effective/efficiency of operations.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills
Bachelor Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or a related field required. Master's degree in Nursing Administration, Hospital Administration, Health, Business, or Public Health preferred.
Work Experience:
A minimum of Five years of healthcare experience or knowledge in acute care hospital services. A minimum of five years experience with responsibility for staff supervision and management required.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
