Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual, physical, and dimensional inspections (in-process, incoming, and final) in accordance with project requirements.
- Conduct inspections of critical features, including witness inspections (e.g., CMM runs).
- Compile and review final inspection sign-off sheets and packages.
- Verify inspection equipment capability and ensure inspection methods reflect design requirements.
- Review justifications for skipped final inspections and validate execution of inspection plans.
- Document and submit non-conformances using approved methods.
- Ensure product cleanliness and absence of foreign object debris (FOD).
- Verify proper fastener installation, torque striping, and overall workmanship per spec.
- Review and validate First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation for completeness and compliance.
- Ensure inspected products are protected and properly documented for shipment.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Quality Inspector or CMM Operator, with industry and commodity-specific expertise.
- Strong ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and industry/commodity standards.
- Proficient in GD&T and validating dimensions (tolerances ≥.005”) using hand tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
- Experience with certificates of conformance and inspection documentation.
- Ability to adapt to new technology and software.
- Excellent visual acuity to detect defects in complex products.
- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Preferred Qualifications
- Certified or previously certified in GD&T ASME Y-14.5.
- Diploma or GED from an accredited high school or technical school; college degree in engineering.
- 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, with at least 2 years as a Mechanical Inspector.
- Experience in Polyworks
- PCB experience
