Position Summary:Under the direction of the Billing Supervisor is responsible for all self pay collection activities for the hospital. Works within the hospital credit and collections policies to assist patients and guarantors with resolution of their financial questions and concerns and informs them of available options.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- 3 years experience in a healthcare business office setting.
- Strong understanding of insurance concepts such as deductible, coinsurance, contractuals, coordination of benefits and reading explanation of benefits. General understanding of Medicare/ Medicaid programs.
- Excellent and persuasive communication skills
- 10-Key proficiency
- Ability to accurately balance cash drawer on a daily basis.
Ability to balance compassion and fiscal responsibility
Preferred:
- 3 years experience as Cashier/Collections in Healthcare Setting OR
- 3 years experience in Billing- Medical SelfPay/Collections.
- Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist
