About the role
We are seeking a UX Designer who is skilled in designing professional software interfaces and understands how to integrate AI capabilities into clear, actionable experiences. You will design intuitive workflows that help cities, field operators, inspectors, and engineers make sense of complex sewer inspection data and AI-generated insights.
This is an opportunity to shape the user experience of next-generation infrastructure tools that combine computer vision, machine learning, and cloud collaboration.
This is a hybrid position. Candidates must reside in the San Francisco Bay Area and are required to work from the office at least two days per week, specifically on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Team members are also encouraged to make additional use of the office on other days throughout the week, based on their preference.

What you"ll do
- Design end-to-end user experiences across SewerAI's web and mobile applications
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and polished visual designs
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Data Scientists
- Design interactions that combine AI automation with human review and validation
- Develop clear visualizations of AI-generated results (e.g., defect detection, scoring)
- Conduct user research with field crews and municipal engineers to inform design decisions
- Contribute to our design system for consistent, high-quality interfaces
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years of experience designing SaaS or data-rich B2B products
- A portfolio showcasing end-to-end UX work simplifying complex workflows
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and designing for human-AI collaboration
- Strong research skills and a user-centered mindset
- Proficiency with Figma (or similar tools) and modern design practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have
- Experience designing tools for field operations or inspection workflows
- Knowledge of GIS systems, computer vision, or infrastructure asset management
- Understanding of accessibility standards in enterprise software
Salary/Benefits
$89,000 - $130,000 a year DOE
The compensation range provided is in compliance with state specific laws. Factors that may be used to determine your actual rate of pay include your specific skills, years of experience and other factors.
