Senior Manager, Inpatient Pharmacy

The Senior Manager, Inpatient Pharmacy, oversees inpatient Pharmacy Services, and the medication use process. The role provides leadership, planning, implementing and evaluation pharmacy programs and services to ensure safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication use.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the recruitment, orientation, development, and evaluation of inpatient pharmacy leadership and employees.
• Oversees budget planning and monitoring under the coordination of the Director, Pharmacy Services.
• Monitors the appropriate use of pharmaceuticals through drug use evaluation studies.
• Promotes positive patient outcomes by providing leadership in maintaining and improving the infrastructure of the pharmacy department and the medication use process.
• Provides information and feedback that indicates effective communication.
• Promotes employee recruitment, and orientation.
• Manages and mentors pharmacy staff, providing opportunities of continuous training to ensure development.
• Utilizes techniques and skills for change, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
• Supports the organization's educational goals and coordinates the pharmacy department's educational efforts.
• Drives initiatives to improve medication safety, clinical outcomes, workflow efficiency and cost containment.
• Develops and implements strategic plans to improve pharmacy services.
• Develops and reports on pharmacy performance metrics.
• Applies principles of leadership to achieve organizational mission and goals.
Education:
Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy, possessing either a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy
Experience:
Six years’ practice in an institutional pharmacy or integrated healthcare system; or completion of a post-graduate residency in pharmacy practice plus four years of
Licensure/Certification:
Valid Kentucky Pharmacy license required
