CT/RAD TECHNICIAN

The CT/RAD technician performs diagnostic imaging/CT procedures to diagnose and treat anatomic and physiologic disorders.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Reviews physician orders and explains the procedure to the patient and/or family member. Provides additional patient education if needed.
- Maintains adequate inventory of supplies, equipment maintenance, and quality control, including visual safety inspections, warm-up procedures, and quality control activities.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation timely.
- Provides instruction for students.
- Operates diagnostic imaging/CT equipment and performs and evaluates technical and diagnostic quality procedures.
Education:
Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Sciences or completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program required.
Experience:
Previous radiologic experience and cross-training in Computed Tomography (CT) preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Current registry/or registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, RT(R) required. Current radiation operator’s certification (general or temporary license) issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky required. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within three months of hire. Additional registry/registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Computed Tomography, RT(R) (T) preferred.
