Department Features
The Emergency Department is a 50-bed unit dedicated to initial evaluation and care of patients presenting with illness or injury. The Emergency Department is staffed with board-certified emergency physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, transporters, techs and registered nurses. The Emergency Department sees on average 170 patients per day with varying acuities and a wide variety of illnesses and injuries from pediatric to geriatrics.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely transports patients of all ages throughout the facility at the direction of the Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, or ED RN.
- Assists the staff by running errands, cleaning and restocking the department.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic Cardiac Life Support or ability to complete at time of hire
- Documented experience as a transporter or custodial experience or willing to be cross-trained at point of hire
- Able to properly lift or transfer patient weight
- Good communication skills
