Job Summary: Primary duties are: 1) answering the department's service phone line, prioritizing and dispatching service calls and other requests for assistance from customers, patients, and staff. 2) Overseeing the flow of patient rooms being cleaned by EVS on the Epic EVS bed board, ensuring that rooms are assigned and completed in a timely manner and that issues are reported to assistant managers as necessary. Duties may include assisting with the operation of the department in performing a variety of cleaning, janitorial and related duties as required to maintain a hospital building and all assigned areas within the hospital in a sanitary, orderly and attractive condition. To move light furniture, equipment and supplies in all work areas as needed, which includes patient rooms, nursing stations, corridors, lounges, bathrooms, nourishment rooms, utility rooms, and offices.
Qualifications: Basic ability to read and understand simple instructions. The ability to follow specific documented procedures. Some ability to deal tactfully with the public and other hospital personnel. Must have the ability to understand the concept of EVS operations. Must be willing to attend paid classroom training outside the regular schedule. If a current employee, needs to work as Environmental Services Technician III for at least 6 months without any employee communication reports. Must demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to perform on a supervisory level. Needs to have basic computer skills and the ability to submit work orders. Required to pass AHE CHEST certification (EVS department will pay for first test) or for outpatient units CNACC (Certificate in Non-acute Care Cleaning Program).
