Sr. Epic Linux Server Administrator

Job Summary: The Sr. Epic Linux Server Administrator will have in-depth knowledge of Linux server environments, particularly in managing Epic Systems' infrastructure to include all Epic environments. This role will involve overseeing the installation, configuration, management, and maintenance of Linux-based systems that support Epic Systems' software and services. The Senior Epic Linux Server Administrator is responsible for managing and monitoring several Red Hat Linux based, Cache database environments at the core of the CaroMont EMR. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, using vendor provided utilities to monitor and manage environments, capacity planning, performing operating system, Caché, and Epic application upgrades, and executing database recovery procedures when necessary as well as manage storage area network (SAN) environments which provide access and connectivity to the EMR. The individual in this role is instrumental in ensuring that Epic is secure, highly available, and performs optimally to meet the needs of our users.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science or related field from a recognized college or university or equivalent IT experience required. Equivalent experience and training preferred would be recognized industry certifications such as Cache Certified Expert, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Storage+, CompTIA Linux+, or various Red Hat certifications (Red Hat Certified System Administrator or Red Hat Certified System Engineer). Candidates must possess and maintain an epic certification. Any SAN certifications are a plus.
Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration (preferably Red Hat, CentOS, or Ubuntu).  5+ years of experience supporting Epic Systems in a production environment.  Expertise in Linux server hardening, security protocols, and performance tuning.  Hands on experience with configuration management tools relative to Linux systems.  Strong knowledge of Epic Systems architecture and application components. 
This role requires strong communication skills to communicate with both technical and non-technical teams about system impacts of various infrastructure and application activities. Strong technical documentation skills and the ability to conduct research into issues, standards and products are also required.
