Position Overview
The PreAdmit Representative manages the patient admission process, obtaining precertification and insurance verification for all outpatient and inpatient admissions. This role ensures accurate registration and seamless communication with patients, families, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. The PreAdmit Representative delivers exceptional customer service and supports a patient-centered experience by ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Compensation is commensurate upon education, experience, certification, and internal equity. Hiring compensation range starts from $16.85 per hour.

- Compensation is commensurate upon education & experience - range is $15.90 per hour or more. Benefits begin the first of the month following 60 days of employment from the new hire orientation date. This position is non-exempt and includes shift differentials for qualified shifts.

Key Responsibilities
- Obtain precertification and insurance verification for patient admissions.
- Accurately register and admit patients, ensuring compliance with hospital policies.
- Provide clear communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Coordinate with insurance companies to confirm benefits, network status, and authorization requirements.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to enhance the patient experience.
Position Requirements
Minimum Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
Experience
- Three to six months of experience in a medical office, clinic, or acute care setting preferred.
Required Registration/License/Certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of admissions and scheduling processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interactions with patients and staff.
- Proficiency in computer systems, faxing, phone operations, and document scanning.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail and regulatory compliance.
- Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
Physical Demands
- Lifts, pushes, and pulls up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity and mobility required.
- Prolonged sitting, standing, and walking > 7 hours per day.
- Frequent bending, squatting, twisting, and turning.
- Near acuity for computer and document review tasks.
Working Conditions
- Regular exposure to bloodborne diseases.
- Exposure to electrical, mechanical, and power equipment hazards.
- Odorous chemicals, specimens, and unpleasant elements (e.g., accidents, slippery surfaces).
- Handles emergency situations and crisis response.
- Subject to irregular hours (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays).
