Job Summary:
The Surgery Equipment Technician is a member of the Operating Room (OR) patient care team and is accountable to the Surgery Equipment Manager, the Surgery Manager, and the Director of Surgical Services. The position requires that the individual possesses clinical and organizational skills related to patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of urgency and accountability, with a notable pride in self and a drive for excellence. This position must be familiar with inventory, all supply storage, supplies, and related equipment. The tech ensures that certain supplies and items are ready and available for surgery patients. In addition, this tech gathers and confirms that all supply and equipment is always available and in good working condition for all patients.

- Collaborates with all OR team members by actively communicating and comprehensively reporting pertinent supply information.
- Uses and troubleshoots Lawson for proper requisitioning of supplies and equipment
- Maintaining supply inventory through computer order entry
- Receipt and distribution of supplies
- Counts par level areas according to schedule and promptly stock supplies
- Receives, delivers, and stocks supplies according to schedule and within established guidelines.
- Responds to and handles emergency supply requests within established guidelines.
- Reviews and maintains all minimum and maximum inventory levels according the schedule daily and places orders appropriately.
- Ensures items have the appropriate date labels and rotates stocks to ensure no items are out of date.
- Ensures all supply chain transactions are done accurately and within the established guidelines.
- Maintains the BIN locations of items in the Materials Management computer system
- Reviewing the inventory for obsolete items
- Coordinates vendors to the Materials Management check-in process
- Maintains the physical inventory count sheets
- Conducts the physical inventory in March and September annually
- Cleans and disinfects equipment, gathers supplies pertinent to that patient’s case, and works areas between patients, following infection control standards and department procedures.
- Organizes the workflow, problem-solves, and manages ongoing priorities with minimal supervision, seeking guidance when needed.
- Uses resources efficiently; monitors expiration dates and does not waste supplies.
- Self-motivated to independently manage time effectively and prioritize daily tasks, minimizing incidental overtime.
- Seeks opportunities to expand learning beyond baseline competencies, focusing on continual development as a Technician.
- Able to assist Surgery providers in emergencies by acting as a runner for supplies and equipment.
- Adheres to the OR policies for Attire and Attendance.

Qualifications:
Education/Skills
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Work Experience:
Preferably previous experience in the operating room, intensive care unit, or cardiovascular unit. Preferably previous experience in inventory control, Lawson, MS Word and MS Excel.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
