Job Summary:
The Decision Support Analyst performs administrative support services for the Director of Case Management. Assists with patient outcomes by supporting performance improvement activities. Performs activities related to the day- to- day operation of the department including handling the telephone and fax machine and ordering supplies. Assists with utilization review program to include preadmission certifications, admission certifications, concurrent reviews, collecting data, issuing notices as needed. Acts as a liaison with patients, physicians, physician’s office staff, third party payers, and hospitals. Enter pertinent information in EPIC as defined by director and team leader. Responsible for running monthly reports and completing dashboards timely for monthly meetings. Manages and ensures updates are completed on all policies and procedures, such as case management department policies, utilization management plan, and procedure manual, etc. Responsible for having a systematic approach to compile and analyze statistical data that can be used to support recommendations for certain actions and decisions. Maintain standard reports and look for improvement opportunities; compares performance and provides feedback to enable intense evaluation of patterns and trends. Collect data regarding governmental notice such as Important Message and Medicare, Medicare Outpatient Observation Notice, Hospital Notice of Non-Coverage, and analyzes the data and reports the findings. Assists with monitoring and tracking pre-certifications. Maintain and purge files as indicated. Schedule meetings and transcribes minutes as indicated accurately and timely. Keeps records of appointments and meetings. Maintains within budget for office supplies. Assists with coordinating and tracking activities of physician advisors, such as time log, check requests, etc. Assists with the management of department’s invoices. Manages information received by fax and mail and distribute to the appropriate persons and department timely. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with patients, families, and visitors of all age groups, while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.

- Accomplishes work with the aptitude of a multitasker and organizer to ensure the day to day operation of the department. Balances quality of work with meeting deadlines.

Qualifications:
Education/Skills
High school diploma required, Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
Work Experience:
Three or more years of experience using decision support systems is preferred. Must have a working knowledge and experience performing clerical duties including using Microsoft office, Excel, Crystal
Reports, and Data analysis. Organizational and strong communication skills are required.
Mental Demands:
Exceptional oral communication and written skills are required to relate effectively to hospital and medical staff. The individual must have the ability to type and familiar with the rules of spelling, grammar, and punctuation. The individual must have the ability to use a computer, copier, telephone, personal computer, and calculator. Working knowledge of medical terminology is necessary. The individual must have a high energy level and be capable of handling pressure situations both mental and physically.
