GENERAL SUMMARY
-
The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is instrumental in the design, coordination, education, evaluation and/or implementation of programs related to the patient care process. Reports to department management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Functions in an advanced clinical role to provide care/education to a group of staff, patients, families and/or community.

May function in a variety of roles with specific duties for an individual department, medical specialty or program.
-
Demonstrates excellence in practice characterized by quality patient care and participation in formal and informal patient and staff education.

Performs other duties as directed.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
-
Current State license as an APRN with specialization in Family or Pediatrics.

Current CPR certification required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
-
Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing.

Meets and maintains State Licenser, Certification and/or educational requirements as a Nurse Practitioner.
-
3- 5 years of pediatric experience preferred.
-
Advanced professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice.

WORKING CONDITIONS
-
Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Frequent exposure to communicable disease and moderately adverse working conditions due to performance of certain patient care activities.
