Position Summary:
As an AI Data Engineer within the AI Center of Excellence (CoE), this role is focused on data engineering to underpin critical business automations, reporting, and AI. Working in collaboration with business stakeholders, AI Business Automation Analysts, AI Automation Engineers, Data Services team, and Cloud Engineers, the role is responsible for the design and build of data pipelines that power AI-enabled business solutions and automations. You will work closely with stakeholders in HR, Finance, Legal, and business units to ensure that clean, structured, and timely data flows underpin our AI and automation workflows. The target is to provide a data platform that enables self-serve access data to enable the business to proceed at pace.
What you will be doing:
The scope of this role includes, but is not limited to:
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, FiveTran, Snowflake, and SQL-based transformations.
- Build integrations between distributed source systems (e.g., EMRs, HRIS, finance tools) and a central Snowflake data lake.
- Develop ETL/ELT processes to ingest, cleanse, deduplicate, and structure data for downstream use in AI workflows, reports, or CRM platforms.
- Enable real-time or batch data processing to support automation and AI/ML applications (e.g., for consent tracking, document parsing, analytics, or forecasting).
- Collaborate with business analysts and automation engineers to map data requirements to process flows.
- Implement data quality monitoring, error handling, and audit logging.
- Ensure compliance with privacy, security, and data residency requirements.
- Create and maintain data documentation, data dictionaries, and lineage tracking.
- Contribute to the broader AI and automation enablement strategy, including enabling AI-driven pipelines or model scoring.
- The position is expected to analyze complex problems and develop solutions that are aligned with best practice and compliant with industry standards.
You have:
- 3–5+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, or ETL development.
- Strong experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, MSFT Power Automate, or Snowflake.
- Experience working with Snowflake and writing efficient SQL for large-scale datasets.
- Proficient in building data ingestion and transformation pipelines (both batch and real-time).
- Familiarity with Python for custom data logic or transformation.
- Exposure to AI/ML workflows or integrating models into pipelines.
- Understanding of data governance, privacy (e.g., HIPAA, PIPEDA), and security best practices.
- Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams (e.g., analysts, automation engineers, business users).
- Experience with CI/CD, Github, and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., n8n).
