Padre Associates is an environmental consulting firm based out of Ventura, California with additional offices in Bakersfield, Sacramento, and San Luis Obispo (SLO).
Padre Associates, Inc. currently has an opening in our Sacramento office for a staff botanist.
Compensation ranges from $25 to $34/hour, depending on experience.
What you'll do
- Primary responsibilities include supporting botanical field surveys, aquatic resource delineations, data interpretation, and preparing associated survey reports.
- Seasonal tasks include construction monitoring for permit compliance.
- Assist with the relocation of special-status plant species.
- Develop habitat restoration plans.
- Oversee habitat restoration implementation and monitoring.
- Create and monitor mitigation plans.
- Conduct tree surveys and provide arboricultural services.
- Perform literature research on botanical resources.
- Utilize GIS and GPS for mapping botanical resources.
- Interact with regulatory agencies for permitting and compliance.
- Contribute to general environmental compliance monitoring.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in one of the biological sciences.
- Have 2-5 years of experience with California native vegetation.
- Willing to work in both an office setting and in the field.
- Some extended overnight field assignments are likely.
