Position Overview:STEM School Highlands Ranch is seeking a skilled and hands-on Facilities Manager to oversee the daily operations, safety, and long-term planning of our school's facilities. This leadership role is responsible for coordinating maintenance, managing vendor relationships, addressing repairs, supporting capital projects, and ensuring a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The Facilities Manager reports directly to the Director of Facilities and works closely with the other directors and external contractors to align facility operations with the School's goals.
Key Responsibilities:Facilities ManagementCoordinate and oversee property management services, including contracted vendor services and repairs.Assist in review of vendor contracts to ensure correct services and scope as needed.Daily oversight and control of BAS system including coordination with service provider when needed to correct issues.Conduct routine repairs and maintenance within a reasonable scope of work.Ensure campus facilities are safe, well maintained, operable, and clean for use by staff and students.
Operational OversightDelegate or complete maintenance orders to support day-to-day operations.Diagnose and repair malfunctions/problems with mechanical systems, building interiors/exteriors, and related structures.Investigate and prioritize service requests, complaints, and inquiries. Develop and manage work plans accordingly.Create and review schedules to ensure timely project completion within allocated resources.
Project CoordinationCollaborate with the Director of Facilities and department heads to help budget and implement projects and area remodels as identified.Help prepare requests for proposals (RFPs) and manage contracts to ensure compliance with state procurement mandates.Help oversee vendors and subcontractors when working on campus.
Leadership and Team ManagementProvide leadership to facilities staff, including conflict resolution and team development.Set and monitor short- and long-term goals for the facilities team.Demonstrate a commitment to collaboration and accountability while fostering positive relationships across teams.
Budget and ReportingAssist in the preparation and management of the facilities budget.Review and analyze costs, operations, and activities to ensure budget conformity.Help prepare and present reports to management, highlighting progress, milestones, and decision-making metrics.
Emergency ResponseAct as part of the CERT team, responding to emergencies outside normal hours as needed.Coordinate emergency response and repairs during crisis situations as needed.
Additional ResponsibilitiesPerform other duties as assigned to support the School's facilities operations.
Qualifications Required:Minimum of three (3) years of experience in general facilities operations, logistics, building trades technology, or facilities supervision.Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in management and staff supervision within a Facilities Services environment.Working knowledge of CMMS work order/maintenance software.Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively across all levels of the organization.Knowledge of accounting principles and budget management.Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications PreferredBachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field.FM (Facilities Management) Certification.Valid Colorado Driver's License.
