GENERAL:
In accordance with the Hot Springs Health Personnel Policy and Procedure Manual and the requirements of our accrediting bodies, the employee will: support the mission of “Partnering with our community for quality health and healing”, our five core values “Ownership, Always better than yesterday, Service first, Integrity, and Stewardship of our resources (OASIS). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responds to user requests for service and determines the nature and extent of support needed
Installs, configures, maintains and troubleshoots a wide range of software used through the facility.
Installs and maintains network application software by setting up user access, maintaining groups, and optimizing shared resources.
Maintains anti-virus system
Follow disaster recovery policies and maintain current backup media.
Performs regular server and database maintenance as recommended.
Follows policies for protecting and maintaining server hardware.
Maintain and troubleshoot PC hardware issues.
Oversee PC replacement and disposal.
Maintains up-to-date expertise in operation and application of applicable IT technologies through self-study or classes

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
The IT Technician shall:
1. Associate’s degree in computer science. A combination of education and experience can be substituted for degrees.
2. Must have a working knowledge of computer networks including LAN, WAN, VPN, and Firewall solutions
3. Must understand installation, configuration, and troubleshooting processes for software, hardware, networking and accessory equipment
4. Must be familiar with network security guidelines and practices and be able to setup solutions that thwart off common network attacks.
5. Ability to manage projects and complete those projects within time and budgetary restraints
6. Customer service oriented
7. Ability to communicate with others
8. Ability to work with mathematical concepts
9. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
10. Must possess communication skills to relate to the public in person
11. Demonstrate good organizational abilities
12. Seeks proficiencies in computer applications, e.g. word processing, spread sheets, database, presentation, and project publication.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret appropriate journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write policies and procedures that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and is knowledgeable in metrics.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to modify care based on the developmental / functional age of the patient as well as that of the patient's ethnic background.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- None required, MCSE, CCNA, CNA, A+, GIAC, etc. are helpful.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to interact with patients, families, visitors and co-workers. Ability to interact assertively and tactfully when dealing with conflict and in group solving activities. Ability to demonstrate a professional, open minded approach in identifying problems and resolving problems/conflicts.
Age Specific:
This position does not require hands-on delivery of care, however, incumbent must demonstrate understanding of how a patient’s chronological and developmental age influences his/her need for adaptations related to his/her abilities.
