Customs Brokerage Associate Entry Writer

Salary Range: $40,000 - $50,000 annual Salary Range
Position Summary:
The Customs Brokerage Associate Entry Writer plays a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring compliance with customs regulations. This position is designed to support smooth international shipping operations, develop strong internal and external customer relationships, and contribute to the efficiency of our team.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Customs Brokerage Associate Entry Writer, you will:
- Accurately enter and manage customs data to ensure compliance with international regulations.
- Complete ISF filings for imports, adhering to all deadlines.
- Generate and maintain files within the EDI trade system.
- Collaborate with colleagues, overseas offices, and external partners to optimize workflows and provide excellent customer service.
- Conduct pre-clearance reviews for all import documentation to ensure compliance.
- Track shipments from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery and resolution of issues.
- Coordinate with trucking companies to schedule inbound shipments and ensure smooth flow.
- Foster positive relationships with customers by assisting with their international shipping needs and inquiries.
- Quickly resolve any shipping delays or operational challenges.
- Work closely with freight forwarders, brokers, and other international logistics partners.
- Accurately handle the financial components of shipments and ensure proper invoicing.
- Maintain strict compliance with customs laws and regulations.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed based on business requirements.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience.
- Proven experience in data entry with a keen eye for detail.
- Knowledge of US Customs and Harmonized Tariff Codes, familiarity with Free Trade Agreements.
- Knowledge of CHB processes.
- Prior experience in transportation or logistics is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience with Transportation Management (TM) systems is an asset.

Work Schedule:
- Full time schedule of minimum 8 hours per day with flexibility to complete all required job duties and responsibilities.
Work Environment:
- Usually moderate noise level.
- Climate controlled office environment.
