As a
Burn Med Surg Nurse at Valleywise Health, you will play a key role in providing skilled, age-specific, and compassionate care to a diverse patient population. Under the direction of a Nurse Manager or the Executive Director of Nursing (Ambulatory), you’ll collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to assess patient needs, administer medications, develop and implement care plans, and respond to a variety of healthcare situations with clinical expertise and empathy. You’ll act as a strong patient advocate and health educator while ensuring care aligns with Valleywise Health policies and evidence-based practices. Your role also includes completing thorough documentation, indirectly supervising ancillary staff as needed, and actively participating in quality improvement initiatives and team-based care. Hourly Pay Rate: $34.15 - $50.37
The night shift pay differential will be paid at
18% of the employee's base rate of pay. The weekend shift pay differential will be paid at
8% of the employee's base rate of pay.
Qualifications
Education:
-
Prefer a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing.
Experience:
-
Must successfully complete the Valleywise Health New Graduate RN training program or have prior acute nursing experience demonstrating an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Previous acute care hospital experience in the area he or she is applying for is preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
-
Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, temporary AZ RN license, or valid compact RN licensure for current state of practice.

Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.

A BLS card must be obtained through an American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.

Must have ACLS upon hire or transfer. Must obtain PALS within six (6) months. Must obtain ABLS within one (1) year
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.

Must have excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills.

Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g., formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to successfully navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer.

Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English. Bilingual is preferred.
