Position Summary: Is accountable for the operation (quality and quantity) of the shift supervised. Organizes the department workload daily through the assignment of duties to technologists and technicians in such a manner as to achieve daily goals. Knowledgeable of laboratory test procedures with defined automated procedures, calculations and/or indicators that are age dependent. Supervises and performs testing procedures on adults, children, adolescents, neonate and geriatric patients. Responsible for training personnel. Must stay abreast of advancements in his/her field. Is responsible for recognizing and implementing additional services to his/her department through collaboration with the Director, as trends in technology, instrumentation and physician ordering patterns suggest the need. Must set goals and objectives for the shift. Evaluates supervised personnel. Assumes responsibility of Director and Operations Manager in their absence.
Education: â— Bachelors - Required
Experience â— 3-5 Years - Required
License & Certification
- National Certification - Required
- Currently registered or registry eligible by the Board of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent.
