JOB SUMMARY
-
The nurse may perform duties by giving care to patients of all age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics under the direct supervision of a physician. A variety of tasks, which require a considerable amount of organization, are included in patient care. This may include performing an EKG, phlebotomy, patient work up, chart review and entering vital data either in a paper format or electronic format.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and/or experience: Requires LPN degree from an accredited school of nursing. Requires current LPN licensure in the State of Tennessee. Previous LPN experience in cardiology preferred. Phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.

Knowledge: Knowledge of medical technology and basic pharmacology required.

Skills: Excellent listening skills. Excellent communication skills with patients and physicians where documentation must be accurate and precise. Computer skills required including use of an electronic medical record program.

Abilities: Ability to use stethoscope, blood pressure monitoring, weight monitoring, 12-Lead EKG and recording of vitals. Must be detail oriented.
