Position Summary:
Oversees the successful delivery of quality patient care to a group of patients. Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines.
Minimum Education: Associate Degree
Minimum Experience: Sufficient previous experience.
Required Certification/Registration:
- Current WV RN licensure
- CPR competent/certified within 90 days of employment
- ACLS and PALS within 1 year of employment
Management Experience:
- Ability to participate in development/implementation strategies to improve patient care
- Proven managerial skills
- Supervisory experience preferred
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing, walking, a and sitting
- Occasionally lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients
- Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
Working Conditions:
- Regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne diseases
- Contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances
- Exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness)
- Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
- Handles emergency or crisis situations
- Subject to irregular hours
- Requires judgment/action which could result in death of patient
- Pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries
