Position Summary
Responsible for supervision and coordination of nursing staff to assure the provision of safe and effective care on the evening and night shifts. Supports and interprets the mission, philosophy and objectives of HMC and the Department of Nursing. Practices within the framework of shared governance, represents administration for problem solving and decision making and supports the tenets of magnet designation.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Human Resources Management
2. Ensure adequate and appropriate staffing
3. Liaison between Nursing and Other departments within the healthcare system.
4. Patient and family advocate (patient centered care)
5. Maintain Professional Development
6. Assure patient safety
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required:
BSN is required
Preferred:
Master’s degree in nursing
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):
Required:
Five years acute care experience
Preferred:
One year experience in nursing leadership
License, Registry or Certification:
Required:
Current NJ RN licensure, CPR and Crisis Prevention (CPI) training.
Preferred:
Certification in Nursing Administration.
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
Required:
Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills. Ability to identify problems and resolve them using a systems approach. Computer literate.
