This role is in the DroneShield Sydney headquarters in Pyrmont, Sydney. There are approximately 300 staff based in the 4,000sqm facility today, scheduled to grow to approximately 400 staff by end of 2025. Overseas on the ground presence includes USA, Denmark, Mexico, and UAE, as well as distributors in over 70 countries globally.
About the role
DroneShield is looking to recruit Inside Sales Representative whose responsibilities will be critical in helping the business run smoothly during its next phase of growth.
The position will be part of the Sales Team and will report to Sales Director. They will work closely with the Australian, Asia-Pac, LATAM, European, Middle Eastern and African sales teams. This role will suit someone with excellent attention to detail and a passion for technology who wants to develop their career in a fast-moving ASX listed defence technology company.
Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations
- Create and prioritise strategic target account lists
- Qualify all leads and understand the pain points of each customer
- Perform research on potential customers and identify the key contacts
- Qualify resellers and distributors
- Prospect and qualify leads using a variety of sources
- Work with the broader team to set meetings, conduct demos, and visit prospects
- Maintain active engagement with new and existing leads through creative follow-up communications
- Conduct high level conversations with counterparties in prospect accounts
- Provide input in writing product manuals and Standard Operating Procedures
- Assist in providing distributor and end customer training in product use
- Help coordinate marketing events/exhibitions and attend when needed
- Generate quotes for resellers on qualified opportunities and follow up as required
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- Ideally 3-5 years sales experience is desired, but this role is also open to graduates
- Defence or security sector experience is well regarded
- Technical degree is well regarded, and in absence of it, need demonstrated track record of ability to grasp technical concepts
- Proven track record of success
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a geographically distributed team
- Excellent written/verbal communication
- Motivated self-starter
- Technology sector experience is well regarded, but not required
- High degree of attention to detail
- Creative lateral thinker
