Position Summary:
The Provider Recruiter is responsible for identifying, attracting, and recruiting qualified healthcare providers - physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants- to join the organization’s network. This role involves managing the full recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing candidates to negotiating contracts and ensuring a smooth onboarding process. The Provider Recruiter collaborates with internal teams, such as Service Line leadership, Medical Staff office and Human Resources, to meet staffing needs and support the growth of the provider network.
Key responsibilities include sourcing and screening potential candidates, conducting interviews, assessing qualifications, and presenting top candidates to hiring managers. The recruiter also manages provider relations, coordinates recruitment events, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements throughout the hiring process. The Provider Recruiter must have a deep understanding of the healthcare industry, be highly skilled in relationship-building, and be able to balance the needs of both the organization and the candidates.
Department Summary:
The Provider Services department is dedicated to supporting and enhancing the relationship between healthcare providers and the organization, ensuring that high-quality care is delivered to patients through effective collaboration and efficient service delivery. This department is responsible for overseeing the recruitment, credentialing, contracting, and ongoing management of providers within the network.
Key functions of the Provider Services department include negotiating contracts with providers, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, providing support for credentialing and licensing, and facilitating communication between providers and other departments to optimize workflow and patient care outcomes. The department also plays a pivotal role in implementing initiatives aimed at improving provider engagement, satisfaction, and retention, while aligning their practice with organizational goals.
With a focus on operational efficiency, provider performance, and fostering positive relationships with the provider community, the Provider Services department works closely with other clinical and administrative departments to ensure that all provider-related activities are aligned with the organization’s mission to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience required
- 3 + years of clinical recruiting experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced, clinical recruiting role
- Experience working within a clinical recruiting team
- Well versed in recruiting licensed medical professionals (Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and outstanding ability to interact effectively with managers, supervisors, and colleagues

Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Collaborates with leadership to understand workforce needs and to design workforce procurement strategies for both physicians and APPs.
- Organizes, advises and executes on recruitment readiness initiatives, including but not limited to candidate criteria and position scoping; development of marketing collateral and design of sourcing campaign
- Lead end-to-end recruitment processes for healthcare positions (physician and Advanced Practice Clinicians (APC) positions), ensuring a seamless and positive candidate experience.
- Conducts in-depth interviews and assessments to evaluate candidates' qualifications, experience, and cultural fit prior to presenting to leadership.
- Coordinates interview logistics (including travel for candidates) between candidates and service line/practice leadership, providing guidance and support throughout the process.
- Manages communication updates between candidates and system leadership to ensure that both sides receive timely and accurate information
- Manage and negotiate competitive employment offers, using industry benchmarks and understanding compensation trends.
- Serves as a resource to internal stakeholders, offering insights into market trends, compensation benchmarks, and recruitment best practices.
- Maintains recruitment metrics and provides regular reports to management, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
- Manages provider onboarding efforts, ensuring efforts are coordinated effectively
- Develops and maintains relationships with physicians, medical associations, residency and training programs, and other healthcare organizations to build a robust talent pipeline.
- Ensures provider recruiting efforts are consistent and in compliance with internal and external policies and procedures.
- Maintains awareness of the national physician and APP market; Monitors internal and external factors impacting attraction and retention.
- Serve as a resource for transitioning providers to our community, including connecting providers with community partners for personal and family needs, as appropriate.
- Assist with interim staffing logistics for interim provider coverage issues
