Job Description/Summary
The Regional Coalition Coordinator (RCC) serves as a dynamic change agent for the Prevention Coalition of Monmouth County. This role is responsible for fostering strong community relationships, inspiring collaboration across diverse sectors, and leading initiatives that promote environmental change to reduce substance use and related risk behaviors.
The RCC works closely with over twelve community sectors to plan and implement collaborative, evidence-based programming. This includes managing both adult and youth-focused coalition efforts, conducting community needs assessments, and developing strategies and policies to reduce alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use. The RCC also facilitates one-time and multi-session programs to address identified community gaps.
This position requires a proactive, organized, and engaging individual with strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. The RCC must be comfortable working independently and collaboratively, and be available for evening and weekend programming as needed
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement action plans aligned with coalition goals and grant requirements
- Facilitate coalition meetings, task forces, and youth group activities
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
- Implement evidence-based prevention programs and community campaigns
- Conduct community needs assessments and identify service gaps
- Support policy development and environmental strategies to reduce substance use
- Represent Prevention First at community events, meetings, and public forums
- Create engaging presentations, workshops, and educational materials
- Track program outcomes, collect data, and prepare timely reports
- Maintain knowledge of current drug trends and prevention best practices
- Ensure compliance with grant deliverables and reporting requirements
- Maintain consistent office hours and attend required trainings and meetings

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Experience in community organizing, coalition building, or prevention work
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
