All Yieldstreet offices follow a 3 day per week (Tues, Wed, Thurs) hybrid work model.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Senior Accountant to help scale and improve accounting operations and oversee key accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Payroll Accounting, and General Ledger (GL) operations. This role plays a critical part in driving process improvement and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The ideal candidate will bring a continuous improvement mindset to help scale and optimize financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee end-to-end AP processing, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Maintain vendor relationships and ensure adherence to payment terms and internal controls.
- Review and approve disbursements and credit card spend
- Partner with HR and Payroll to ensure accurate payroll accounting in the general ledger.
- Prepare payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations (e.g., taxes, benefits, bonuses).
- Drive monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting operations and improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop and document accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Leverage technology and automation tools to enhance workflows.
- Prepare and coordinate documentation for audits.
- Address auditor inquiries and ensure timely remediation of findings.
- Special projects as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.
- Experience with Netsuite, Looker and Ramp is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with a strong attention to detail.
