About the role
As a Cost Segregation Senior Engineer at Tri-Merit, you will be part of a dynamic, fast-paced team of experienced professionals—including cost segregation specialists, CPAs, and industry leaders—who are passionate about delivering meaningful tax savings to our clients. In this role, you'll lead and execute cost segregation studies by conducting site visits, analyzing architectural drawings, developing detailed asset schedules, determining tax treatment of building components, calculating depreciation, and preparing comprehensive reports
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple cost segregation projects simultaneously with efficiency and accuracy
- Conduct site visits and inspections of subject properties
- Review and analyze architectural and construction documents
- Develop asset schedules and determine appropriate tax treatment in accordance with IRS guidelines
- Communicate project status and findings with both internal team members and external stakeholders
- Prepare and present detailed cost segregation reports to clients
- Ensure all work adheres to the highest professional standards and client confidentiality
- Deliver high-quality client service that meets or exceeds expectations
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience performing cost segregation studies or related work (e.g., construction estimating, property inspections)
- Strong understanding of federal tax depreciation rules and IRS cost recovery regulations (preferred)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% for client site visits
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Accounting, or a related field

Final salary offers are made at the company's discretion and take into account both internal equity and market conditions.”
