The Bloomington and Normal Water Reclamation District (BNWRD) is looking to add a new team member. This full-time opportunity is for an entry level Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.
Those with prior wastewater experience are encouraged to apply. A Regular work schedule will include weekdays, split weekends on a rotating basis, holiday hours in addition to standby shifts. The minimum starting hourly range is $18.27 – $29.33. Any disclosed pay range is based on neutral factors and criteria such as required qualifications, experience, education, skill, training, certifications, and seniority.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities we are looking for:
- Familiar with wastewater instrumentation and process control sampling.
- Operating stationary and mobile equipment.
- Monitoring and control of processes using SCADA systems.
- Ability to comply with state and federal regulations.
- Ability to work with a team at all levels of an organization.
- Ability to perform physical labor such as reaching, bending, stooping, crawling, standing for prolonged periods, normal lifting to 75 lbs. and, on occasion, above that limit.
- Ability to work outdoors, occasionally in adverse weather conditions
- Ability to respond to emergency situations during and outside of normal work hours.
Requirements for the Position
- High School diploma or equivalent, bachelor’s degree or vocational/technical training is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain an Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Class 4 Wastewater Treatment Works Operator Certification within two years of hire.
