The Bloomington and Normal Water Reclamation District (BNWRD) wants to add a new team member. This full-time opportunity is for either a Wastewater Assistant Maintenance Mechanic or General Laborer in the Maintenance Department. Based on prior related work experience, the starting pay range is between $16.68 and $29.40 per hour. Any disclosed pay range is based on neutral factors and criteria such as required qualifications, experience, education, skill, training, certifications, and seniority.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities we are looking for:
- General knowledge of tools, mechanical principles, construction, preventative maintenance, farming, or groundskeeping work.
- Familiarity with equipment troubleshooting methods, electrical systems, PLCs, and pumps typically associated with the wastewater industry a plus.
- Good work ethic, positive attitude, and desire to learn.
- Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
- Ability to read and write comprehensively.
- Ability to learn and utilize various computer software programs.
- Ability to perform physical labor such as reaching, bending, stooping, crawling, standing for prolonged periods, normal lifting to 60 lbs. and, on occasion, beyond that limit.
- Class A CDL license is not required but is encouraged to obtain within twelve months of hire.
Required Education, Experience, and Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
