About the role
- The Operational Risk Analyst will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks within our organization. This role involves analyzing internal processes, developing risk management strategies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk management, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience in the financial sector.
- More specifically this role will manage all counterparty risk reviews and commnication. This role will also provide ongoing monitoring and feedback to lender and servicer clients.
What you"ll do
- Risk Identification and Assessment: Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within the company"s operations. Conduct thorough risk assessments to understand the level, significance, and scope of these risks.
- Risk Mitigation: Develop and implement controls to prevent or mitigate identified risks. Assist in designing risk management processes and policies.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Prepare detailed reports summarizing risk assessments and actions taken. Monitor and analyze risk management data, escalating significant issues to management.
- Compliance and Audits: Conduct audits of policies and compliance standards, liaising with internal and external auditors. Ensure all operations comply with regulatory requirements.
- Training and Development: Provide training to staff on risk management strategies and programs. Stay current with industry trends, threats, and security standards.
- Contingency Planning: Participate in developing and implementing contingency plans to handle emergencies and unexpected events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor"s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field. Additional experience can replace the need for a degree.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in risk management, preferably within the financial or mortgage insurance sector.
- Minimum skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in risk management software and tools.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Preferred skills
- Experience with report creation using statistical data.
- Familiarity with mortgage insurance products and services.
