Wildfire Defense Systems, Inc. (“WDS”) is a Qualified Insurance Resource (QIR) operating the largest private sector wildfire service in the nation, encompassing a 22-state service area and specializing in wildfire education, loss prevention, and wildfire response services. Qualified Insurance Resources are defined as NWCG qualified or equivalent, wildland engines, tenders, hand crews, fire/liaison officers, and personnel working for or contracted by an insurance company with a mission to mitigate impacts on insured structures threatened by wildfire. WDS holds contracts with insurance companies to provide wildfire loss prevention services. WDS fields experienced, highly trained, safety-focused wildfire officers and fire personnel that hold a wide range of Federal Wildfire Incident Command position classifications necessary to meet or exceed all federal wildfire operation standards and codes including all requirements of the National Wildfire Coordinating Group (“NWCG”) or equivalent. WDS is capable of providing more than 180 wildland engines and hundreds of fire personnel and support personnel. WDS has served large and small insurance clients since 2008.
Purpose and Scope of Position This position is accountable for providing support to Facilities for both building and grounds keeping projects and general maintenance, while also supporting other projects and teams within Corporate Services.
Organizational Relationship
This position reports to the Facilities Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Facility/Projects:
· Assist with maintenance of the facility including floors, ceilings, interior and exterior walls, lighting, electrical, plumbing and HVAC
· Assist with maintenance of all facility and shop equipment including appliances, tools, shelving, desks, and storage
· Assist with maintenance of the grounds including parking lot, employee patios, trash, and recycling areas
· Undertake special projects such as in-depth cleaning jobs, painting, light carpentry, etc.
· Help diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them. Review blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs
· Follow and implement all necessary safety protocols and regulations
· Perform certain cleaning tasks and disinfection of equipment
· Collect and dispose of trash and recycling
· Take on odd jobs and handle emergencies as they arise
· Monitor supplies and report on low stock as necessary
· Assist in vendor management activities and coordination of vendor services
· Greet and offer assistance to staff when needed
· Treat people fairly, consistently and with respect
· Abide by all policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and other company documents
· Participate in required training and meetings

Grounds:
· Responsible for tidiness in all supply and workspaces, and informs the Maintenance Supervisor about depleted parts and materials that must be ordered
· Maintain grounds equipment in a safe operating condition
· Perform general grounds clean-up, including picking up paper and trash around grounds; cleaning and pressure washing all areas of the property
· At times may operate hedger, trimmer, clipper, hand and power spray equipment, blower, sod cutter and various small hand and power and other related grounds maintenance equipment
· Provide professional customer service at all times
· Maintain a uniform landscaped look by picking up all debris around buildings, common areas and through breezeways of buildings
· Plants and tends flowerbeds, trees, and shrubs; trims, mows lawns and apply fertilizer
· Follow well-established procedures for the basic maintenance of tools and equipment such as lubricating, sharpening, replacing broken handles, making simple adjustments, and repairs, as necessary
· May perform minor vehicle maintenance duties
· Snow blow walkways and shovel snow when necessary
· Spread salt or sand on exterior passageways to prevent ice buildup when necessary
· Must follow all safety/OSHA Requirements
Job Requirements
1. Basic Qualifications (i.e., education, certifications, etc.)
· High School diploma or equivalent, 2-year technical accreditation preferred, or 2-years of experience in facility or grounds keeping related work.
· 2+ years landscaping experience preferred.
· Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
· Requires knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, heating, security systems; basic carpentry, and construction; automotive and small engine mechanics; safety standards; and planning and organization.

· Strong working knowledge of MS Office 365, accounting, and project management software

Physical Requirements

· While performing the duties of this job, this candidate is regularly required to talk or hear, and must be able to lift up to 75+ lbs., bend, climb, stand for duration of shift, etc.
· Ability to successfully pass a DOT Physical
· Requires the ability to operate power tools, equipment, and maintenance vehicles.
· Also includes sitting, standing, and bending, repetitive motions of hands and wrists due to frequent wrist motion.

The pay range for this role is:25.82 - 33.41 USD per hour(Post Falls)
