The Alliances Manager plays a critical role in managing a global joint venture company within Byborg Enterprises SA and delivering measurable impact across our group of portfolio companies. This role combines strategic alignment, business planning, initiative leadership, and operational enablement to ensure the group and its entities execute effectively against shared goals.
Working closely with leadership teams across the organization, the Alliances Manager acts as a connector and driver—translating strategic vision into actionable programs and ensuring portfolio-wide coordination and synergy realization.
Key Responsibilities - Strategic Alignment & Business Planning
- Build strong working relationships with management teams across portfolio companies to ensure alignment with group-level strategic priorities.
- Lead reviews of business plans, facilitate effort estimation, and assess strategic impact.
- Support the ongoing development and improvement of the group’s strategic planning and prioritization frameworks.
- Deliver regular performance updates and strategic insights to senior leadership, highlighting risks, opportunities, and interdependencies relevant to M&A or cross-company initiatives.
Initiative & Project Leadership
- Drive strategic initiatives and cross-company projects in close collaboration with portfolio company management, ensuring alignment with the group's vision, values, and long-term objectives.
- Identify and scope high-impact opportunities; coordinate resources and execution efforts across companies and functions.
- Manage project lifecycles, track progress, and ensure accountability and visibility across workstreams.
- Foster knowledge-sharing and best-practice adoption across portfolio companies.
Operational Enablement
- Align teams and resources with strategic priorities, facilitating trade-offs and managing constraints when needed.
- Proactively surface and resolve operational blockers in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Promote the use of standard practices, reporting frameworks, and playbooks to ensure consistency and operational excellence across companies.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and ownership.
Insight & Executive Communication
- Translate complex operational data and business inputs into clear, actionable insights and summaries for executive audiences.
- Prepare and deliver strategic briefings and decision-making materials that support group leadership in evaluating progress and setting direction.
- Lead efforts to uncover and realize synergy opportunities across portfolio companies.
- Execute any additional tasks or responsibilities as required by Management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in strategy, operations, or project management roles—preferably in a multi-entity or group-level context.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to quickly understand complex company structures and interdependencies.
- Proven track record of managing strategic programs, cross-functional initiatives, or change efforts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and skilled in balancing multiple priorities under pressure.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to break down problems, interpret data, and build compelling narratives for executive stakeholders.
