LOCATION: Hybrid with state wide travel within Michigan to health centers

Wage: $110,000 per year

Position Description
Functions as a member of the Patient Care Leadership Team. The Director of Nursing will inspire, lead, & guide the clinical nursing teams as well as the clinical follow-up team. This position will also ensure clinical compliance with regulatory requirements as defined by the state, federal, PPFA standards and guidelines, and Planned Parenthood of Michigan (PPMI) policies and guidelines. Addresses compliance, risk management, and patient satisfaction issues and manages quality improvement initiatives. Accountable for performance outcomes within clinical and follow-up settings. Provides direct patient care as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
● Plans, assigns, monitors and manages the work of others including evaluating clinical skills for RNs/LPNs. ensuring skills and competencies are compliant with Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) guidelines, PPMI policies, procedures, and practices, and state and federal regulations.
● In coordination with HCM’s will develop, maintain. and communicate schedules to ensure appropriate staffing and space availability. Will guide and assist HCM with RN/LPN health center schedule.
● At minimum quarterly site visits to all PAB sites.
● Reviews performance and evaluates results achieved by direct reports.
● Coaches and mentors direct reports. Identifies and addresses training needs for RNs and Follow-up team members.
● Participates in direct patient care as needed.
● Develops a pipeline of leadership within nursing and Follow-up teams.
● Develops, maintains, and evaluates Follow-Up activities in relation to patient care across the affiliate.
● Directs or conducts recruitment, hiring and training of nurses and PCC staff per PPMI policy and guidelines.
● Develops, implements, and evaluates the orientation program for new nursing and Follow-up personnel.
● Interprets, applies, and recommends changes to organizational policies and procedures.
● Monitors productivity and professional standards and ensures standards are met or exceeded.
● Participates in the development and implementation of clinical training programs.
● Conducts periodic chart audits as well as chart audits of abnormal findings/results to ensure compliance with PPMI protocols and PPFA Medical Standards and Guidelines.
● Addresses patient complaints either directly or through established appropriate PPMI channels.
● Monitors and maintains system information to ensure accuracy in the referral/follow-up process.
● Regularly reviews audit and quality improvement activities and makes recommendations and implements improvements.
● Participates in the establishment of business unit productivity standards and goals.
● Assists in the development of the budget for nursing and follow-up services.
● Interprets operational, administrative and staffing requests with use of business models to make decisions
● Develops staffing guidelines and assignments according to qualifications of staff and business needs of the organization.
● Participates in the roll out of new services and procedures.
● Maintains currency in professional medical standards used in patient care.
● Acts as Patient Safety Officer to identify and improve gaps in clinical knowledge and technical skills.
● Operates standard office equipment and uses required software applications.
● Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience
Required
● Minimum of Associate’s Degree
● Minimum of three years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
● Licensed Registered Nurse in State of MI
● Demonstrated ability to achieve successful health center outcomes in a shared-leadership setting.
