SUMMARY: The Cardiologist will provide services for Alameda Health System, under employment from Alameda Health Medical Group. Services will be on-site at Highland Hospital, San Leandro Hospital and Alameda Hospital.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: Following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.
1. Provide diagnosis, care, and treatment of all Cardiology inpatients and outpatients.
2. Availability during normal business for emergency consultations.
3. Prompt performance of appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as medically indicated.
4. Teaching and supervision of the house staff.
5. Assisting the leadership to plan, develop and supervise the intern and residency training programs; and the continuing education program
6. Attend, participate in, and prepare Cardiology conferences (e.g., noon conferences, etc.), Board review sessions or didactic lectures
7. Participate in the in-service education programs for AHS nursing staff and other allied health professionals.
8. Support Resident research activities.
9. Participate in counseling, tutoring, and remedial programs for housestaff and students.
10. Assist and supervise the Cardiology Service of the Department of Medicine.
11. Advise the Chief of Cardiology in the general direction of the Division of Cardiology.
12. Attend monthly Morbidity & Mortality Conference, Department Meetings, Committee Meetings, and Corporation meetings.
13. Attend and participate in general medical conferences, e.g., Grand Rounds; and assist the Chair of Medicine to prepare for these conferences, as reasonably required.
14. Attend and participate in Division of Cardiology meetings, e.g., cardiac cathlab performance improvement committee, cardiology clinic meeting, non-invasive lab meeting, and assist the Chief of Cardiology to prepare for these meetings, as reasonably required.
15. Participate as directed by the Chairman, Department of Medicine in the AHS quality review process according to established policies and procedures.
16. Serve on AHS and medical staff committees.
Pay Range: $248.46 - $258.66 / Hour
The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) is required.
Required Licenses/Certifications: Current status as board-eligible or board certified by the American Board in Cardiovascular Disease.
Required: Current California Medical License.
Required: Valid DEA license.
