Pay Range: $17.37 - $23.32 / hour

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for all aspects of patient food service, to include patient menu collection, kardex maintenance, food preparation, delivery, ware washing and general sanitation of the food service department. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives

Successful completion of annual job specific competencies and skill verification tools required.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Collects menus from patients, tallies food counts and prepares hot and cold menu items, snacks and nourishments following standardized recipes assuring proper portion control and consistency of product. Assembles, delivers and retrieves patient trays efficiently and effectively documenting food temperatures and production amounts per policy.
•
Processes patient’s diet information utilizing health system telephone and computerized communications systems efficiently and effectively ensuring accurate patient/client care following department policy. Generates a variety of daily clinical and financial reports in accordance with established guidelines.

Maintains proper sanitation standards in the handling and preparation of food items and maintains full responsibility for kitchen cleanliness. Completes assigned cleaning responsibilities. Maintains temperature logs for dishmachine and refrigerators, reporting issues to engineering for resolution, ensuring appropriate follow up and documentation.

Receives and verifies all deliveries, inspecting for damaged products, signs invoices and puts stock away following established procedures.

Disposes of all food, paper, cardboard, aluminum and glass waste according to established guidelines.
•
Utilizes dish machine and pots and pans area to complete ware washing per departmental policy.
•
Performs all aspects of job in an environment that optimizes patient, customer and environmental safety and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and compliance efforts. Notifies appropriate resource of issues requiring intervention beyond capabilities. Maintains confidentiality of all position required information.
