Job Summary:
The LPN performs under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and the Patient Care Coordinator, and is delegated an assignment by him/her to achieve quality patient care. The LPN shall assist the RN in the implementation of the nursing process by providing direct patient care as evidenced, but not limited to, patient care documentation, direct observation, and patient evaluations. The LPN is responsible and accountable to the Patient Care Manager of the unit.
Performance Expectations:
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary collect data and provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to read data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed.
- Adheres to and promotes the established values of the organization i.e. customer service, safety, compliance standards.
- Demonstrates effective communication with others in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Embraces and practices We CARE philosophy in all aspects of patient, visitor, co-worker, employee and non-employee care.
- Demonstrates the aptitude for safely positioning and assisting patients using a variety of devices such as but not limited to abduction pillows, splints, slings, braces, neck collars, walkers, crutches, immobilizers and specialty beds.
- Communicates effectively with others in an appropriate and timely manner. Adheres to and promotes the established values of the organization, i.e. customer service, safety, infection, control and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills:
Graduate of a recognized accredited LPN program required.
Work Experience:
Work experience preferred but not required.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
- Licensed LPN able to practice within the State of MS
