Purpose Statement:
The focus of the Director of Communications is to effectively share the heart and vision of the Calvary Christian Academy community, supporters, and volunteers to build relationships and communicate important information. They will direct strategic planning and design as part of cross-media campaigns: print and online, addressing the communication needs of clients (CCA departments and campuses), using a mix of creative (copywriting/design/photography) and managing their team and skills.
Scope:
The Director of Communications is responsible for working with all school departments and campuses in developing communication strategies. This position is directly responsible for managing and overseeing a team of writers, editors, graphic designers, and web development for the school.
Responsibilities:
- Directing all communication mediums associated with Calvary Christian Academy
- Knows and understands the vision, mission, and brand identity of our organization
- Adhere to the editorial guidelines and standards in place for the organization
- Maintains global oversight of design consistency for all major campus events, across all campuses
- Working with individual school departments to improve overall communication with the CCA school community
- Direct and manage a creative team effectively to promote teamwork, fellowship, and increase productivity
- Work well and meet with clients (CCA departments and campuses) to discuss their needs and be proactive in presenting ideas and designs to prospective clients
- Creates new communication concepts and ideas by gathering information from clients (CCA departments) to increase school communications
- Directing and managing department budget

- Strong commitment to the philosophy and Statement of Faith of Calvary Chapel of Fort Lauderdale and an ability to share the heart and the vision of this ministry
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to easily build personal relationships with others

- Experience in managing overall budget
- Excellent verbal and written skills

- Ability to organize and coordinate events taping into resources and deploying them to the proper places
- Education/Training in development, public relations, communication, and marketing
Work Schedule:
Full time (40 hours/week); however, incumbent may be required to work an evening or weekend day to attend a CCA event, or assist with a special project or in an emergency situation affecting the church facilities.
