Key Responsibilities
- Claims Management: Handle a portfolio of liability claims, including general liability, auto liability, and property damage, from initial investigation to resolution.
- Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations, including interviewing claimants, witnesses, and other parties involved, and analyzing police reports, medical records, and legal documents.
- Evaluation: Assess liability and damages, determine coverage, and develop strategies for resolution.
- Negotiation: Negotiate settlements with claimants, attorneys, and other parties to achieve fair and cost-effective outcomes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all claims activities, including written reports, correspondence, and settlement documentation.
- Compliance: Ensure claims handling complies with company standards, state regulations, and industry best practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, legal counsel, and external vendors to resolve claims efficiently.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by keeping all parties informed throughout the claims process and responding promptly to inquiries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience handling liability claims, with a focus on general liability or auto liability.
- Strong knowledge of insurance principles, policy language, and liability laws.
- Excellent investigative, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., AIC, CPCU) are a plus.
