Position Summary
Provides essential support to the Employee Health and Infection Prevention Program by performing clinical and administrative tasks. This role involves assisting with employee health assessments, managing medical records, administering vaccines, compliance tracking, and supporting Infection Prevention Initiatives. The Medical Assistant ensures the smooth operation of the Employee Health and Infection Prevention Program, contributing to a safe and healthy work environment.
Essential Duties
- Assists in conducting employee health assessments, including vital signs and vision screening. Collects and processes specimens for laboratory testing.
- Assists with post-exposure evaluations and follow-ups, including bloodborne pathogen exposure.
- Assists in collecting, entering, and maintaining employee health and infection prevention program data, surveillance testing, and immunizations as state and federal requirements require.
- Maintains documentation related to audits, inspections, and accreditation processes.
- Participates in the planning and executing of employee health and infection prevention training sessions.
- Maintains par levels for the department. Completes ordering and stocking.
- Collaborates with other departments, such as Quality, Human Resources, and Safety, to ensure a holistic approach to employee health and infection prevention.
- Coordinates bi-annual blood drives and assists in organizing infection prevention awareness events, such as hand hygiene campaigns and infection control weeks.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma/GED and successful graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in infection prevention or employee health services.
- Special Training, Certification or Licensure: CPR/BLS required.
Salary Range: $24.00 - $27.00
