Pay Range: $17.27 - $23.32 / hour

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the SSA Manager, provides the Health System with processed instruments, materials, and equipment ensuring a quality product for patient care by executing established procedures for receiving, decontamination, assembly, packaging, and sterilization. After consulting Operating Room schedule and requisitions, assembles and sets up case carts for the Operating Room. Assists with monitoring peer performance and ensures department and hospital policies and procedures are maintained. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
High School Education or equivalent. On the job training provided.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Current Central Service Tech Certification (Interantional Association of Health Care Central Service Materials Management – IAHCCSMM or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution – CBSPD) preferred, but not required. Certification must be obtained and is required during third year of employment.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Successful completion of annual job specific competencies and skill verification tools required. Knowledge of aseptic technique and standard precautions required. Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and basic medical terminology is preferred. Basic computer literacy is required.
