Duration: 1 Year
Commitment: Full-time summer Intern + Part-time; 10-20 Hours intern during school year
As a Power Fundamental intern at Linea, you will have the opportunity to work primarily with our commercial team, focusing on power system analysis, market fundamentals, and energy modeling. You will work closely with our experienced team in Houston and San Francisco and will have the chance to contribute to diverse projects, including power flow analysis, market studies, and supporting our growing 7 GW+ greenfield pipeline of solar, wind, and storage projects across the U.S.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with power system modeling, analysis, and fundamental market research
- Analyze electricity market data and prepare reports on pricing trends and forecasts
- Contribute to technical evaluations of renewable energy projects
- Utilize specialized power system software and coding for data analysis and presentation
- Learn and apply new technical software programs as needed
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Energy Systems, Data Science or related technical field
- Planning to graduate at the end of the current or next academic year
- Interest in power systems, electricity markets, and intent to pursue a career in the energy sector post-graduation
- At least one prior internship experience in a technical or analytical role
- Proficiency in Excel, Python (or another coding language), and data analysis. Knowledge of power system software such as Encompass, Aurora, or PLEXOS is a plus.
- Basic understanding of electrical concepts and power systems
In addition to gaining a deep understanding of power systems and the renewable energy industry, you will have the chance to work with a team with hundreds of years of combined experience in the energy sector.
