About the role
- The Human Resources Analyst will collect, compile, and analyze HR data, metrics, and statistics related to employee benefits and leave, applying this data to make recommendations related to employee benefits and leave entitlements.The HR Analyst partners with HR leaders and their customers to analyze work process design and flow, improve processes and leverage the return on technological capabilities. This position also serves as a technical point-of-contact for the assigned functional area and assists subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. The HR Analyst also supports HRMS upgrades, patches, testing and other technical projects as assigned.
What you"ll do
- Collects and compiles key HR metrics and data from a variety of sources, including human resource information systems (HRIS) and payroll outputs, benefits enrollment records, management and employee surveys, exit interviews, personnel records, government labor statistics, competitors' practices, and other sources.
- Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention toward benefits enrollment, absenteeism, leave use, recruitment, motivation, turnover, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Prepares reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings to senior leadership.
- Identifies and recommends reasonable short- and long-term goals, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance metrics.
- Based on metrics and analysis, makes recommendations for policies and activities to improve existing metrics including changes to benefits, leave, and compensation offerings.
- Researches or coordinates with appropriate benefits administration staff to research alternatives for health, wellness, and retirement plans and benefit providers.
- Facilitates implementation of new leave programs, benefits plans, and other related initiatives.
- Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.
- May assist HR leadership with staffing, recruiting, and departmental budgets.
- Manages projects and process improvement, including applying change management experience to facilitate movement to new levels of quality.
- Utilizes interpersonal skills when working with various customers and peers to accomplish project goals.
- Recommends process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy, which must be approved by appropriate leadership prior to implementation.
- Performs system maintenance, including assisting in the review, testing and implementation of HRMS system upgrades or patches. Collaborates with functional and technical staff to coordinate application of upgrade or fix. Maintains HRMS system tables. Documents process and results.
- Provides production support, including researching and resolving HRMS problems, unexpected results or process flaws; performing scheduled activities; recommending solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.
- Generates reports/queries, including writing, maintaining and supporting a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools. Assists in development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs. Helps maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.
- Conducts training, including developing user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Trains clients on new processes/functionality. Trains new system users.
- Maintains awareness of current trends in HRMS with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies. Examines trends in information systems training, materials and techniques.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- BS, BA or graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years of applicable human resources service delivery experience, including HR administration, benefits administration, HRIS administration, or other related discipline
- Customer service experience.
- Ability to work both in a team environment & individually
- Proficient in general word processing and spreadsheet skills
- Proficient in use of HR systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal laws involving employment, HR, and benefits administration
