Children’s Outreach Counselor – Full Time
Riverbend Community Mental Health, Inc., one of the largest providers of community-based behavioral health services in New Hampshire, is seeking an energetic and creative person for a full-time Outreach Counselor position to work in our Children’s Intervention Program (ChIP), providing community-based support services to children and families.
As an Outreach Counselor, you’ll have the opportunity to work with children ages 4-18 who are receiving treatment for a range of mental health concerns. In this role you will be taking children into the community, 1:1 and in small groups, to provide support with behavior management, practice and application of new skills for effective communication and self-regulation, as well as providing support in times of crisis. You will collaborate with area schools and provide 1:1 and group support within the setting through evidence informed practices. You will be working as part of atalented, multi-disciplinary clinical team to provide high quality services tofamilies and children.
Responsibilities
• Provide community-based services to children (1:1 and in small groups)
- Facilitate activities to help children learn effective social and behavioral skills
- Support 1:1 and group activities in school settings
- Participate in the development and implementation of client treatment goals
• Work with treatment team to facilitate case coordination and information sharing
• Communicate about client needs and progress with their families and schools
• Maintain client records and document services according to agency standards
Requirements
• A Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, education, or related human services field.
• A valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and auto insurance.
• Enthusiasm about sports and/or other indoor/outside youth related activities
• The ability to work flexible hours, including four weekdays and one weekend day
